Rather than only offering one type of standard shipping, Strand Core believes that it is best to offer numerous packaging options so you can choose the one best suited to your product. Cable, Strand, and Wire Rope Packaging Options:

Coils:

We primarily recommend using coils when you have shorter lengths of products. Specifically, if your product is 250 feet or less, coiling is a great way to efficiently package strand, wire rope, and cable. We use zip-ties and place each coil into an identified plastic bag for shipment. Afterwards, we put the wrapped coils into cardboard boxes.

Plastic Reels:

Plastic reels are a great choice for smaller-sized aircraft cable and strand. While the plastic reels are not as strong as wooden reels, the reels are a lightweight solution that minimizes shipping weights. We offer plastic reels in multiple colors when requested.

Plywood Reels:

Plywood reels are an excellent packaging option, thanks to their versatility. Plywood reels are used on the widest range of constructions and sizes, and the reels are extremely durable and strong. Drum and flange ratios are easily customized to ensure minimal cable memory after shipment.   

Nailed Hardwood Reels:

Hardwood reels are large reels that are used for the shipment of heavier and larger ropes. We recommend using these reels for wire ropes 3/8” and larger and aircraft cable shipments that weigh over 300 lbs.

Custom Cable Assemblies:

Individually Packaged and Labeled:

As some customer cable assemblies require traceability for each individual part, Strand Core can individually package and label individual parts to ensure you can easily identify your part. Our packaging can include serialization, unique bag labeling, or any other identification you may require.

Bulk Packaged:

If you do not need to have each cable assembly identified, we provide bulk packaging to ship in bulk and bundle sizes. This method assists in counting and storage, and each box includes a manufacturing lot number and a carton level identification for the customer product number.
